Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar participated in the Mahakumbh festival by taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, on February 1, 2025. Accompanied by his wife and family, he expressed his admiration for the event, which he described as historic due to the massive turnout of devotees.
Praise for arrangements
Upon his arrival in Prayagraj via helicopter, Dhankhar was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He commended the arrangements made for the Mahakumbh, calling them "amazing" and likening them to a "miracle." The Vice President noted that the scale of attendance was comparable to the entire population of the United States, highlighting the significance of this gathering.
Dhankhar emphasized the logistical efforts involved, including the provision of over 100,000 toilets and free meals for thousands of attendees. He remarked that this experience was one of the happiest moments of his life, stating, "When I took a dip, I realized there is no country like India."

Ceremonial activities
After taking the holy dip at a designated spot in Triveni Sangam, Dhankhar and his family participated in worship at various sacred locations including Saraswati Koop, Akshay Vat, and Bade Hanuman temple. Rituals were conducted by priests from Vrindavan to honor their participation.
